Agro-Tech Research Inc. is an agricultural research company based in Velva, North Dakota, conducting field research across 16+ crops. Each summer, we welcome interns to work alongside our research team and gain hands-on experience with crop research, agricultural technology and field operations.

Summary

​

The Agro-Tech Agronomy Internship is a seasonal position running approximately May through August. Interns will work directly with our research team throughout the growing season, gaining practical experience with agricultural research from planting through harvest.

​

This internship is a great fit for students interested in agronomy, crop science, agricultural research or production agriculture who want to spend their summer learning in the field.

​

Responsibilities

​​

  • Assist with efficacy, yield and crop tolerance research trials.

  • Work with 16+ different crops throughout the growing season.

  • Learn about weed, insect and disease identification and control.

  • Work with crop protection products and learn proper application rates and techniques.

  • Assist with agricultural technology testing.

  • Operate research equipment including plot planters and drills, backpack and mounted sprayers, and plot combines.

  • Collect, record and organize field research data.

  • Gain experience with research and analytical software including ARM and GenStat.

  • Assist with planting, spraying, field evaluations and harvest.

  • Work alongside experienced agricultural researchers in a hands-on environment.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Currently enrolled in agronomy, crop science, plant science or another agriculture-related program preferred.

  • Interest in crop production and agricultural research.

  • Willingness to work outdoors and perform hands-on fieldwork.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to learn and operate agricultural and research equipment.
